Post Office & Merryweather Dry Goods
Nauvoo's post office handled an impressive volume of mail as steamships and mail carriers picked up and dropped off the mail at least three times a week by 1845.

Frederick Merryweather moved his dry goods store in with the postoffice. He adverised “cheap articles,” which in the 1840s meant “within the reach of the average person’s pocketbook.”
